  2. Carbohydrate • Provide energy for humans and animals • Cellulose which make up many plant structures. • 2 types -simple(starches) - complex (sugars) Found in :bread, nuts ,chocolate donuts, seeds, rice, milk

  3. Fats • Provides essential fatty acids and energy. • Helps your body absorb Vitamins A, D and E. • 4type - Polyunsaturated fatty acids ex:(vegetable oils) - Monounsaturated fatty acids ex:(olive oil) - Saturated fatty acids ex:(coconut) - Trans fatty acids ex:(beef, fish)

  4. Protein • 0.8 grams for every kilogram your weight everyday • Every cell in human body contains protein • Found in - Meat , egg, nuts, and seeds • 2 type - Complete proteins (meat) • Incomplete proteins (vegetables)

  5. Fibre • Important to living things, holding tissues together. • 4 types Vegetable fibres Wood fibres Animal fibres Mineral fibres Found in: fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes

  6. Vitamins • Boost the immune system Two types : fat soluble water soluble • Found in: milk, eggs, liver, carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, peaches, papayas, mangos,red berries, and kiwi

  7. Minerals • Making hormones and regulating your heartbeat. • Two types: macro minerals trace minerals Found in:broccoli, green beans, tomato juice, tofu, clams, shrimp, beef liver

  8. Water Need for survive Functions: remove wastes, serves as a lubricant, cellular respiration, fluid volume, maintains normal body temps and acts as a coolant. Found in: water
