Structure of the Cerebrum Central cerebral hemisphere left and right part of brain. Join by corpus callosum. Convolutions are ridges on surface of brain. Fissure are deep sulcus (grooves) that separate the brain. i.e. longitudinal fissure separates left and right hemispheres. Cerebral cortex is (gray matter) layer that covers convolutions and sinks into fissure. It contains over 75% of all neuron cell bodies in the nervous system. Cerebral cortex is bellow and contains myelinated axons that connect cerebral cortex to other parts of nervous system.
Functions of the Cerebrum Motor Areas
Functions of the Cerebrum Sensory Areas
Functions of the Cerebrum Association Areas
Hypothalamus • Maintains homeostasis by regulating visceral activity and linking nervous and endocrine system. • Heart rate and arterial blood pressure. • Body Tempt. • Hunger and body weight • Sleep and wakefulness.
