Reference Works Defined : • Reference works may be defined as the essential tools of historical research. • Examples of Reference works include : Almanacs, atlases, bibliographies, chronologies, compilations, concordance, dictionaries, directories, encyclopaedias, gazeteer, guides, handbooks, lists, indexes, registers, thesaurus. • MacIntyre, S. 2001.
