  1. Aim: To identify some Folklore characteristics. Do now: Think of a story you remember that you learned something from.

Folklore • The new genre we are going to study is Folklore. • Folklore contains a few sub-genres: Fairytales, Myths and Fables/Folktales. • Folklore is a collection of stories that have been used from generation to generation in order for cultures to make sense of their worlds. • Most are stories that teach the reader a lesson about life.

  3. Our Unit Goal • At the end of this unit, you will create a comic with all of the characteristics we will be learning about this genre. • Today we are going to start exploring the genre and getting ideas about what some of those characteristics may be. • Let’s get started.
