Who is this session for ? • Certainly for BComm students and others interested in Harlow But… • BBA and iBBA students can choose Harlow • Before anyone chooses Harlow they should know about the alternatives • BComm students may have more flexibility than they know • About when to go (Term 5 or term 6) • About completing concentrations
Types of Study Abroad • Standard Student Exchange • Maximum flexibility (27 partners in 17 countries) • Wide range of courses (taught in English) • Part of small group (might be the only MUN student) • Taught by foreign teachers in classes (mainly foreign students) • Harlow-type (Asia) • Probably only offered in Malaysia in 2010 • Harlow

Approximate Costs • Costs will vary according to individual choices, eg food, local travel • Main costs: airfare, accommodation, food • Airfare: $1000 - $1500 (UK, Mexico, Europe) $1600 - $2000 (China, Japan, Malaysia) $2000 - $2200 (Australia, New Zealand) • Accom: $500 - $800 (China , Malaysia, Czech) $1000 -$1500 (Belgium, Germany) $2300- $2700 (UK, Ireland, France, Australia, Netherlands, Norway), and $4500 in Denmark • Food: $500 - $700 (Malaysia, Czech, China) $1000 - $1500 (Australia, France, Germany, Mexico, NZ) $1600 - $2600 (Japan, Sweden, Italy, UK, Denmark, Norway)

BComm Program Core and Elective Courses in Terms 3-7 Yellow denotes elective courses. These courses must normally contain 10 business electives and 5 non-business electives.
Accounting Malaysia and some Exchange Partners One possible scenario: B5301 and B7000 can also be taken in terms 6 and 7 respectively if you go on exchange.
Working for a local company as part of Study Abroad • International Consulting course 6018 • Involves supervised project for local company • Can be taken at most Study Abroad locations • Depends on matching interests of local businesses and students • Counts for credit towards your degree
How do you choose? • Does the timing fit your MUN program (especially if BComm)? • Some exchange partners have similar term dates • Some are similar in only one semester, some in none • Cost?
