You need to think out of the box, to make top recruiters view your profile and consider you for a job. LinkedIn, a business networking site, is one of the popular social platforms that could help you land your dream job. Major recruiters and staffing agencies, nowadays, give enormous weightage to candidates’ social profiles on several social media sites such as, LinkedIn and Facebook. To help you leverage Linkedin to enhance your employability, here are four tips to consider. Take a look. 1. Create a Profile Aligned with your Resume Typically, a job resume lists your work experience and various accolades earned during your academic and professional years. Create a LinkedIn profile that aligns with your resume, and highlights all essential information that you want to showcase to your recruiter. You must, however, avoid regurgitating all the facts from your resume onto your LinkedIn profile. Instead, keep is crisp by writing a brief summary and adding skills to the profile. You can also ask your ex colleagues to endorse your skills and write a testimonial for you. 2. Upload a Professional Profile Picture Choose a formal photograph for your LinkedIn profile. Utilize the Summary Space Judiciously Create a profile summary according to your professional interest. For example, go for a creative LinkedIn summary if you are related to a creative field, whereas if you work in the finance sector stick to a professional one! The summary shouldn’t be more than 4-5 paragraphs. In the summary mention your current profile, key skills, passion and a list of industries or projects in which you have gained significant work exposure.
