Roaming Developments in GN3 • GN3 hosts: • EU eduroam service (led by Miro) • Research activity on roaming developments (led by Stefan) • CAT was developed as part of that • Stefan’s work in the IETF is part of this • GN3 project about to end: • April 2013 • A new proposal Gn3plus will be submitted on Dec 5

Roaming Developments in GN3plus • GN3plus much smaller project than GN3: • Only two year funding available • No research activity on mobility or roaming in GN3plus! • No research on Moonshot • No research on any other technologies • EU eduroam service still funded • Moonshot small pilot funded as part of the Service Activity

  5. Implications of GN3plus • The lack of a research activity in GEANT leaves a gap; • TF-MNM should fill the gap by hosting most of the discussion that could potentially take place on the existing GN3 research activity; • If funding is needed to carry out work we could look for it: • In TERENA (small scale) • By creating a community project • In GEANT (although not sure how much budget will be available)

  6. So…. • We need to ensure TF-MNM is able to continue its exiting work: • And the current work taking place as part of the GEANT research activity • Who somebody lead this process?
