UA Grading levels Level 1 - Requirements for UA compliance for the category have been achieved. Establishment achieves a score of 1-33%
UA Grading levels Level 2 - Requirements for UA compliance for the category have been achieved at a very good standard Establishment achieves a score of 34-66%
UA Grading levels Level 3 - Requirements for UA compliance for the category have been achieved at an outstanding standard Establishment achieves a score of 67-100%
Application OF UA GRADING • UA Grading has been integrated with and forms part of the standard TGCSA grading criteria for all star grading categories of accommodation and MESE • It is an assessment that is undertaken on all star grading at no extra charge to the establishment. • The UA grading does not affect the standard quality and star grading assessment of the property. • There are on average 200 grading questions that need to be answered.
CURRENT IT CHALLENGES !! • UA Grading questions on QiT are prepopulated with the answer YES • System does not allow for a not applicable option, • QiT system error with scoring - confirms a UA Grading status even if only a few questions are completed.
CURRENT ASSESSOR CHALLENGES !! • Assessors have to complete a long list of assessment questions when it is obvious the property cannot meet the requirements. • Some assessors submitting results of full UA compliance without a proper assessment • The criteria questions are not clear and up to date with industry trends – extremely high standard. • Property owners don’t want to be UA Graded – perception of cost factor to them
The WAY FORWARD • QiT System full re-testing of all possible scenarios and double testing – end Sept 2012. • 3-year Review of the Grading Criteria – key UA stakeholders under guidance of Ms Amor Malan – a member of the Awards Committee – 1 April 2013 • Development of a UA Technical Guide to assist both establishments and assessors understand the requirements of UA Grading better – on standby until 3-year Review.
