What are ‘Custom Animations’? • Custom Animations: • Are a list of effects that you can apply to objects to have them animate during the slide show.
Here is an example… • Step 1: Press Shift-F5 • Step 2: Observe what happens when Step 3 comes on the screen. • Step 3: What happened? • Answer:
How to Use? • Click on ‘Slide Show’ • Click on ‘Custom Animation’ • It comes up on the right hand side.
The Difference Effects… • There are 4 effects you can apply; 1. Entrance 2. Emphasis 3. Exit 4. Motion Paths
What are Entrance Effects • Entrance Effects occur when something enters the slide show (text, picture, chart).
Activity 1: ApplyingEntrance Effects Step 1: Click on ‘Slide Show’. Click on ‘Custom Animation’. Step 2: Highlight the picture below and apply a ‘BOX’ effect at a ‘VERY SLOW’ speed.
Activity 1: Continued. • Make one picture have a MEDIUM speed and ‘BOUNCE’ effect. • Make one picture have a FAST speed and a ‘DISSOLVE IN’ effect.
What is an Emphasis Effect? • Emphasis effects make a part of the slide stand out more than the rest of the slide. • For example…Press Shift-F5, then press the down arrow key and see what happens to the word ‘WOW’ below. WOW!!!
Activity 2: Applying Emphasis • Make only this line SPIN. • Make only this line GROW 200%. • Make only this line change FONT STYLE to Italics. • Make only this line change FONT to IMPACT.
How to Remove Effects… • Step 1: Click on the small number on the left of the slide. • Step 2: Click on ‘remove’ on the right side of the screen. • Try it on Me!!!
Removing Specific Effects… • Only remove the SPIN effect. Keep the GROW effect.
What is an EXIT effect? • An exit effect is the opposite of entrance. • For example, look at what happens to the picture.
Activity: Adding Exit Effects • Give this picture a SLOW, VERTICAL, ‘BLINDS’ exit.
Activity: Adding Exit Effects • Give this picture a MEDIUM, UP, ‘CHECKERBOARD’ exit.
Activity: Adding Exit Effects • Give this picture a VERY FAST, to the BOTTOM-RIGHT, ‘FLY OUT’ exit.
What is a ‘Motion Path’ Effect? • Motion paths move text, pictures, or charts around the slide. • For example, look what happens the the words below when you click. • LOOK!!!
Activity: Applying Motion Paths • Make this line move to the right. • Make this line move down.
Activity Continued… • Go to ‘Custom Path’ and draw a ‘Free-Form’ path for this line.
Activity Continued… • Go to ‘Custom Path’ and draw a ‘Scribble’ path for this line.
Activity Continued… • Go to ‘More Motion Paths’ and give the picture a ‘6 Point Star’ path.
Activity Continued… • Go to ‘More Motion Paths’, scroll down and give the picture a SLOW, ‘Neutron’ path.
