  2. A few facts about Ms. Dryer I graduated from Grand Valley State University This is my 6th year teaching I am still going to college to obtain my masters in counseling

  3. What I love about teaching • YOU  I love kids and enjoy spending my day with YOU. • I love science and learning about new things • I love watching YOU learn and I love learning new things from YOU • We are so fortunate to have all that we do to learn

  6. Some personal “stuff” I have three daughters Sydney, Cassie, Sammy We have a dog and a cat I am the youngest of four, I have three brothers I love to teach, read, summer, coffee, the color orange, run, the sun……

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES • Be to class on time with a positive attitude • This means in your seat with your supplies when the bell rings, not after. • Bring all necessary materials to class to be a successful learner • Pencil pouch supplies and your ID hanging around your neck • Be accountable for your actions • Meet all your deadlines, turn “stuff” in on time  • Help others when you can • Don’t be afraid to ask, but don’t be afraid to try • Be sure what you do and what you say is what you want to do and say • Have fun, laugh, learn, enjoy and challenge yourself

SYLLABUS • Review the syllabus on your own • Turn to a neighbor, introduce yourselves, and discuss three things you expect to learn in science class. • Turn to a new neighbor and what is one question you still have about this class • Turn to one more new neighbor and share three things about yourself • Turn to the front and be ready to share out one of the topics you discussed

  9. Dismissal from class • Stand behind your chairs to be dismissed • The bell never dismisses you

Introductions • Complete the index card as follows: • One side: first and last name, nick name you want me to use address, phone number, date of birth, who you live with • Other side • Upper left corner: I can….. 2-5 things you can do • Upper right corner: I wish…. 2-5 things you wish • Lower left corner: I will always…. 2-5 things you will always • Lower right corner: I am …. 2-5 things about you • Share with your neighbor • Pass to your left • End person turn and pass back • Person in back left corner, put in the correct turn in box

  11. Launch • Please come back tomorrow  • I am very excited about this 2011-2012 school year • Now go learn something new
