What Is the purpose of study resources? To help all students who need academic assistance with any subjects
Study Resources Available on campus Get Your Study On at these convenient places on campus! • The Holman Success Center • The Math Lab • The University Writing center • Eagle Study Tables • The Student Center Computer Lab • The Library • The Academic Projects Center • Success Coaches
The University writing center Location: Halle Library Straight to the back and to the left, past the study tables. Hours: Mon-Thurs 10:00am-6:00pm. Friday 11:00am-4:00pm The Writing Center is a very helpful guide for writing processes because: Students need second opinions when writing papers to help them get a better understanding of what needs to be fixed Students can get feedback on what is good about their writing, and needs no improvement Students can become aware of the things that they need to improve while writing papers of any kind. This is a great resource for college students to get help revising papers, and learn new things about their writing style • Offers assistance with: • Getting Started • Planning Your Writing • Getting Organized • Polishing Your Writing • Incorporating Evidence • Using Citations
Study Tables Location: Halle Library Straight back to the left Hours: Monday-Thursday: 8:00am-9:30pm Friday: 10:00am-3:00pm Saturday: Closed Sunday: 3:00pm-9:30pm You need to have your student I.D. card available with a special sticker that you scan to be able to go to study tables. If you are in a UNIV class or sport, they will automatically provide the sticker for you, if not then you will request it at the study tables desk. • Offers: • A quiet place to study • A way for students to ask for help or clarification on any homework • Easily accessible/on campus
Math lab Location: 411 Pray Harrold (734) 487-0983 Hours: Monday-Thursday: 8:00am-8:00pm Friday: 8:00am-2:00pm Saturday(Halle Library room 302) 1:00pm-5:00pm You walk in the door, and give your Emich email and you can go on your way getting your work done. When you need help you just raise your hand and someone is always there to help you. For test retakes, you walk to the back of the room, to the right and open the door, and go sign in to retake the test. • Offers Assistance with: • Math Homework • Test corrections • Math tutoring available • Test retakes
The Student Center Location: 900 Oakwood Street Hours: Monday-Friday: 7:00am-1:00am Saturday: 8:00am-1:00am Sunday: 11:00am-12:00am • Benefits of the Student Center: • There is a 24 hour computer lab available for use • There is a Starbucks and various other restaurants available to eat at • There is a closed in study room with couches available to stay comfortable while studying in a quiet place
So what is the point Of study resources? • The point of study resources is to help students earn better grades • To give assistance to students struggling in a particular subject • To help students complete their work before the due date Create A goal of how much you want to accomplish in the day while studying. Manage your time while studying for each course
Why Does your group feel that this information needs to be shared with incoming students? It is very important to know that there are study resources available for daily use on campus and available at no cost.
What kind of students would benefit the most from your resource? Any student could benefit from our resources because they can better their understanding in certain subjects that they are struggling in, or just want to complete homework or prepare for upcoming tests.
When should students receive your groups resources? Students should receive our groups resource at any time they feel they need help in a subject or if they want a quiet place to study for tests and get their work done
What would students learn from your groups resources? Students could learn anything from math to writing skills. They just need to know where these resources are on campus that are available to them to help them maintain good grades at no cost.
