  2. Point • Evidence • Explain PEE Writing

  3. What is the point you are trying to make? How does it link to the main point of the paragraph? Point

  4. Hysteria is a predominant theme throughout The Crucible. Beginning with a group of naïve young girls making accusations to lessen their own guilt, 19 townspeople are hanged due to baseless and absurd allegations. Hysteria

  5. Which example of all the evidence you have researched are you going to use to back up your point? Evidence

  6. Abigail capitalizes on the misguided fears of her young friends in accusing various defenseless individuals of the capital offense of witchcraft. Furthermore, she threatens the girls stating, “And mark this.  Let either of you breathe a word, or the edge of a word, about the other things, and I will come to you in the black of some terrible night and I will bring a pointy reckoning that will shudder you.” Abigail

  7. How are you going to demonstrate that the example or evidence proves / supports your point? Evaluation

  8. Abigail’s wickedness knows no bounds. Her lies and deceitfulness cause havoc and heartbreak throughout Salem with Reverend Hale lamenting, “Let you not mistake your duty as I mistook my own. I came into this village like a bridegroom to his beloved, bearing gifts of high religion; the very crowns of holy law I brought, and what I touched with my bright confidence, it died; and where I turned the eye of my great faith, blood flowed up.” Hysteria and Heartbreak
