Contributions to Modern Understanding of the Environment • TFI - supports efforts to improve air and water quality and develop a sustainable future • CPF – educates and empowers children to make a positive impact on their communties and environment • TESF – tries to conserve biodiversity • UNF – supports the goals of the United Nations; donated $1 billion • NFI – works to lessen the threat of nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons

More Contributions • Also founded/launched: • Cable News Network (CNN) • Turner Classic Movies (TCM) • Better World Society – to campaign for nuclear disarmament • Time Magazine’s “Man of the Year” in 1991. • He started a long-term project in Montana of returning thousands of acres to their natural state in order to re-introduce the endangered North American bison that lived there.
