Most Common Application Of FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastics) In Building Construction Fiber Reinforced Plastics offer many benefits as compared to traditional building construction materials such as steel or aluminum. FRP product effectively reduces the maintenance requirements, greatly minimize the cost of ownership over the product’s lifetime. FRP base plate can be effectively installed on any types of roof. FRP roofing sheets are U.V. stabilized with excellent impact resistance. These FRP sheets are manufactured using U.V. polyester resin and top quality chopped glass mat. Translucent FRP roofing tiles are used for lighting the room. These are made up of fiberglass and unsaturated polyester resin. A 20-micron anti-aging film is used on both sides of the sheets. Corrosion resistance, fire resistance, long-life, diffuse reflection, high light transmittance, environment-friendly, energy saving and scratch proof are the most common features of FRP roofing tiles. Industrial FRP roof sheets is becoming a preferred choice over other traditional building materials, finding huge application in a variety of industries such as construction, amusement park applications, automobile, aerospace, chemical industries etc. These tiles are highly used in-  Public engineering fields: Train station, stadium, zoo, playground, school, hospital, restaurant, garden, restrooms etc.  Agricultural fields: Greenhouse, breeding room, farm & storage building, cattle shed, poultry farm etc.  Industrial fields: Workshop, warehouses, storage, steel structure project etc.  Transportation: Bus station, parcel offices, airport, ticket counters, shelters etc. FRP base plate will allow a quick installation and will produce a smoother surface because it eradicates the need for pins or nails. Perhaps the key reason for using fiberglass-reinforced plastics (FRP) is their integral corrosion resistance. In many cases, industrial FRP roof sheets are the only materials which will suit service environment conditions; and in other cases, their corrosion resistance is integrated with their budget to make them the most economically acceptable solution. Corrosion resistance of FRP material is a function of both the resin content and the particular resin used in the laminate. In general, the higher is the resin content, the more rust resistant the laminate will be. Often, a key benefit of FRP material is its cost-effectiveness. When comparing materials for corrosion service, Hastelloy, rubber lining, Carpenter 20, titanium, Monel, and the unusual stainless materials are frequent alternatives to FRP. In these cases, FRP may provide a satisfactory solution to both corrosion issue and the lowest cost. There is no thumb rule for relating the costs of FRP with other materials. These costs majorly depend upon the applications, the pressures involved, the design considerations, the product configurations, and raw material availability and its price. FRP perfectly absorb the same environmental conditions of the location where the sheets or tiles will be installed. A fine tooth saw blade, the manufacturer’s recommended trowel, carbide drill bit and a laminate roller are the few essentials with which installation can be done effectively. FRP roofing sheet has nearly service lifespan of nearly 20 years and it can be installed on the wooden base, concrete base, and steel structure base.
