  2. Where are we? Ardmay House is located on the shores of Loch Long, just outside the village of Arrochar.

  3. Getting ready for your trip Spare Room Plastic bag Labelled Packed by child

  4. What should I pack/not pack? • Old comfy warm clothes • Lots of socks and underwear • Trainers • Jammies • Midge repellent/sun tan lotion • Sunglasses and cap • Wash kit and towel • Large Water bottle • iPads/Tablets • Mobile phones • Digital cameras • Electronic games and equipment • Brand new clothes/jeans Full kit-list available on the Ardmay website: www.ardmay.com

  5. Arriving at Ardmay • Coach will leave from school • Welcome to the house, find your bedroom and getting to know the house and grounds. • Find out your group and meet your instructor for the trip. • Fire drill to make sure everyone knows where the fire exits are. • Lunch • Activities begin!

  6. Outdoor Activities During the residential week at Ardmay House you will take part in a variety of outdoor activities including:

  9. Climbing/Abseiling

  10. Team Challenge

  11. Mountain Adventure

  12. Weaselling

  13. Staff and Safety • High staff to child ratio. • AALA licence • All staff enhanced disclosure checked and highly qualified with NGB qualifications and first aid certificates.

  14. Evening Activities • After dinner there will be some time to relax and have a shower before the evening activities which run from 7-9pm. • These include: Games Night Environmental Night

At Ardmay we operate a healthy eating policy, serving a child-friendly, nutritious menu. • Breakfast: Cereals, toast with spreads, bananas, yoghurts, fruit juice. • Lunch: Soup, Filled rolls, fruit, biscuits and juice. • Dinner: Choice of two main courses (always one vegetarian option) and a pudding. • Supper: Biscuits and juice. • Tuck shop: Opportunity to spend £1 a day on snacks

  16. End of the trip – home time! On the final afternoon, we do a big clean up before the bus arrives. There is a chance to go to the souvenir shop to buy a memento of the trip.

  17. We do a review of all we have achieved during the trip before the closing ceremony, where each pupil will receive a certificate of achievement.

  18. Medication and Additional Needs • Please let us know if there is anything we can do to ensure your child has the best experience at Ardmay. • Please hand in any medication to visiting teachers. • Medication: If your child is coming with prescription medication, please ensure that it is clearly labelled with their name and that the prescription from your doctor is included. • If it is non prescribed please keep it in its original box with a parents note attached.
