How to display (and print) formulas and functions Unit 2 ICT GNVQ
Lesson Objectives • To know how to display formulas in an Excel worksheet • To be able to adjust the column width to display all formulas and data correctly
What you are asked to do…. • Print a copy of your spreadsheet showing the formulae and functions. Also print a copy showing the figures.
Step by step….. • First make a copy of the worksheet you used to calculate the sale prices and totals Click “Edit” then “Move or Copy Sheet” – make sure the correct sheet is selected – and you put a tick in the box next to “Create a copy” After clicking OK you will need to rename the worksheet – and move it to the correct position in the workbook
To display the formulas etc • Click “Tools” then “Options” • Next Next you should put a alongside “Formulas” in the Options dialogue box Also make sure that “Row & column headers” has a
Now adjust the column width so that all formulas are displayed fully Select (highlight) the full worksheet by clicking on the worksheet button here Then double click the border line between any two column headers – and the columns will adjust to just fit the formulas in the worksheet
Print out your worksheet displaying the formulas • Before you printout the worksheet check: • Use Print Preview • Change from “portrait” to “landscape” if you need to • Use the “Page Setup” dialog box to adjust to 1 page wide by 1 page tall – if necessary
