  2. ABOUT US Suffering from chronic neck and/or back pain can be a truly difficult experience that will often make it hard to go about daily activities. Often times, a lot of the things that you used to enjoy will start to turn into a chore. Anyone who is in a great deal of discomfort and pain will want to make sure that there is a way to get good relief so that you can keep up with the quality of life that you were once used to. The Spinetech Institute located in Texas is available to help patients get the treatment they need to live a normal, functional lifestyle once again.

  3. Treatment Options Chiropractic Care – Chiropractic care is often used as an alternative for pain relief in the joints, muscles and connective tissues. It’s also used in coordination with traditional medical treatments. Bioelectric Therapy – This is a safe, drug-free form of treatment for those who are dealing with pain. It’s often used for treating acute and chronic pain conditions. Back Injections – Injections can help to treat both spinal stenosis and radiculopathy. They are also used for other types of pain in the back, as well as helping them to determine that the cause of the pain is.

  4. Anterior Cervical Discectomy Fusion Surgery The anterior approach in this particular surgery means that the surgery is performed through the front part of the neck, instead of going through the back. Several advantages exist to using this method. It allows better access to the surgical site. Using an anterior approach provides access to just about the entire cervical spine from the top of the neck all the way down to the cervico-thoracic junction. The junction is the location where the upper spine joins with the cervical spine.

  5. Procedure Involved with ACDF Surgery An anterior surgical approach where an incision is made into the skin about one to two inches in size on either the left of the right side. The thin muscle underneath of the skin is split using an incision and the plane between the muscles is entered. The plane between the carotid sheath and the esophagus is entered. The thin tissue covering the spine is dissected from the disc space. anterior-cervical-discectomy-fusion-Beaumont-TX-500x281A thin needle is then inserted into the space and an x-ray confirms that the surgeon is in the proper level of the spine. After identifying the proper level, the parts of the disc that are damaged are then removed by cutting through the ring surrounding the disc and removing its core. Most of the disc, but not all of it, will be removed in this procedure. Patients often return home that same day or maybe the next day following the procedure.
