Revamped Membership Awards Packet • Four (4) new awards will replace the current membership awards packet. • The 4 awards are: • Collegiate Upgrade Award • Region Statistical Award • Membership Retention Program Award • Membership Recruitment Program Award
New Diversity & Inclusion Plan • The four pillars are: • Communications: Deliver inclusion message throughout the Society and the stakeholders in SWE. Owned by HQ. • Pipeline: Identify, mentor and support potential and rising leaders in SWE. Owned by Regions. • Accountability: Set overall expectations and continually monitor the Society’s progress. Owned by BOD. • Leadership Training: Train leadership to advance diversity and inclusion in the Society. Owned by BOD.
BOD FY08 Installation and Region Governors’ Summit • FY08 BOD 1 Meetings will held in Bethesda, Maryland • Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 16-18, 2007 • The installation of new officers will take place on Thursday night. • The region governor’s summit will be held Friday and Saturday.
New Collegiate Awards • Purpose: To recognize the success of individuals who work with Collegiate Sections • Collegiate Member Awards • Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award • Outstanding SWE Counselor Award • More information in next SWE Collegiate News • 2007 Nomination Deadline will be April 30th
Collegiate Member Awards • Levels • Freshman/Sophomore • Junior/Senior • Graduate Student • Criteria include • SWE Participation • Involvement in Engineering Societies, Campus Activities, Community, and Academic Achievement
Faculty Advisor / SWE Counselor Awards • Actively engaged in mentoring a collegiate section • 3 or more years of cumulative experience in role • Criteria include • Leadership as an advisor • SWE Collegiate section and campus participation • Participation in other activities
Update on National Conference • Region Meeting October 25, 2007 Nashville, TN • Meeting length may change – from 1.5 hours for collegiate, 1 hour for joint and 1.5 hours for professional meetings (total of 4 hours) to a total of 2 hours due to limitations on conference rooms at Nashville convention center • Not all meetings will be held at the same time
