HeLa cells were transfected with wild-type (A-C and G-I) or dominant-negative Q69L Ran-GTPase tagged with Flag (D-F and J-L), and cells were processed for double immunofluorescence with anti-TDP-43 (Proteintech; green) (A-F), anti-N-terminal FUS (Bethyl Labs; green) (G-L), and anti-Flag (Sigma; red) antibodies. Note that Q69L Ran-GTPase displaces endogenous TDP-43 and FUS from the nucleus to the cytoplasm (arrows).
