  5. JOINT OPERATIONS1 OF 3 • Consist of 2 or more services • Established • Secretary of Defense • A Commander in Chief (CINC) • Subordinate Unified Commander • Existing JTF Commander

  6. JOINTOPERATIONS2 OF 3 • JTFs are responsible to establishing authority • Normally Temporary • Disestablished on completion of mission

  8. MULTINATIONAL OPERATIONS1 of 4 • Two or more nations conducting operations together to accomplish a single mission.

  12. INTERAGENCY OPERATIONS1 of 2 • Primary purpose of interagency operations are to promote, support and defend US national interest without becoming involved in war.

  14. CONTROL OF TACTICAL MOVEMENT • Understand the size of unit • Organized in serials of march • Use multiple routes (4 routes) • Designate speeds

  15. CONTROL OF AIRSPACE1 of 3 • Div A2C2 Overseas the airspace control function • Identify/resolve airspace user conflicts • Airspace user requirement • Maintain maps, overlays • SOPs, plan and annexes to OPORD/OPLAN

  18. DIGITIZATION OF THE BATTLEFIELD1 of 2 • Digitization is defined as near-real-time transfer of battlefield information between diverse fighting elements to permit the shared awareness of the tactical situation

  19. DIGITIZATION OF THE BATTLEFIELD2 of 2 • Microprocessing and space based technologies: • Broadband transmission systems • modular communication component • Facsimile, video, Global Positioning Information and graphic overlays for digital mapping
