In order to maintain the growth your child has achieved this year, we have implemented a mandatory summer reading program for our students • Research has proven that daily reading strengthens a child’s fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary development. • Without summer reading, research has shown that children may lose as much as three to four months of the reading progress they made during the school year. • Reading includes listening to stories as well as reading independently.
