The Marauder’s Map. Larissa M. On May 17, 2011, at approximately 9:30 AM, the map lied. We were going on a field trip to the Music Hall in Metro Detroit, to see the Ford Freedom Award Ceremony. Caroline and I were in the back of the Ford Focus, and my mom was driving us.

The Marauder’s Map Larissa M.
We were going on a field trip to the Music Hall in Metro Detroit, to see the Ford Freedom Award Ceremony. Caroline and I were in the back of the Ford Focus, and my mom was driving us. “Oh, did you see that one clip where the kid was sledding down a hill, and he lost his video camera, and then it picked up him crying, and his little sister found the camera? It was so funny!” I said. Caroline and I were talking about clips from America’s Funniest Home Videos, or AFV. “Oh, yeah! That one was so funny!”
I told Caroline another clip. “And did you see that other one, where the mom was saying the names of the planets to her daughter, and the daughter would repeat it? The little girl said them correctly until they got to Uranus. The mom said ‘Uranus’, and the little girl repeated, ‘My anus’. Mom and I cracked up!” “Oh yeah! That one was even funnier than the one where the kid lost the camera!”
I made an important point.“But, all the trampoline videos, where they get hurt while playing on trampolines are not funny. What’s so funny about people getting hurt? I don’t get it.” “I know, right? It doesn’t make any sense to laugh at those videos.” I remember one trampoline video that I saw a couple nights ago. There was a guy in either his late teens or his early twenties. He was bouncing on his trampoline. He bounced the wrong way. What ended up cushioning his fall? His dog’s poop.
We wandered for about 20 minutes, asking people where the darn building was, but all but a security guard and two women didn’t know. The security guard pointed us in the direction that the map said, but we didn’t get there. The women pointed us closer. Then, Caroline saw that we were right by Comerica Park and the Opera House. She remembered that Mr. Joseph told us that the Music Hall was right by Comerica Park and the Opera House.
When we were on the floor on which our class was seated, we were a tiny bit late. Oh, well. You can’t rewind time.
Later, when my mom looked at the map, the street where the map said the Music Hall was and the street where it actually is are ten streets apart!!!
