Non-verbal Communication • A type of communication which presupposes a face-to-face interaction, in which people exchange wordless messages. • Wordless messages can be send through: • Gestures: body language • Posture: facial expressions and eye contact • Objects: hairstyle, clothing • Architecture: symbols

  3. Nonverbal Communication • Face-to-face interaction • environmental conditions where communication takes place • the physical characteristics of the communicators • behaviors of communicators during interaction.

It has been stated that non-verbal communication plays a role in every kind of discourse, and in professional interpretation • It is one of the key aspects of communication • Used to repeat the verbal message • Often used to accent a verbal message. • Often complement the verbal message but also may contradict.  • Regulate interactions • May substitute for the verbal message
