  11. Daily Subs • Assignments are Generated and Accepted through AESOP • Different Rates of Pay based on Qualifications - Non-Degreed, Degreed, Certified • Half Days vs. Early Dismissal • Conference Periods

  12. Extra Help • Types - Office, Monitors, Special Education, Locker Rollers, etc…. • Verbal Coordination to Secure Subs • Must Be District Sub or Temp • Green Time Sheets and Rate of Pay • Salary Worksheet Required for Assignments over 10 Days

  16. Temporary Employees • Who are they? • Employees in a vacant position due to resignation or growth • ARI/AMI Tutors • Athletic Sporting Event Staff • TAKS Tutors • Maintenance Seasonal Workers • Performing Arts Event Staff • Color Guard Coordinators • Band Truck Drivers

Temporary Employees • Background Check • Verify that the applicant meets NISD Standards • Fingerprinting • Meet State requirements • Employment Documents • I-9 – Authorized to work in United States • Direct Deposit • W-4 – Withholding for Tax Purposes • PST Authorization – Temporary equivalent of TRS

Temporary Employees • Once all the necessary paperwork has been completed, pay rate established, the employee may begin working • Temporary employees do not receive access badges, e-mail accounts, network accounts • Temporary employees do receive photo ID badge • Temporary employees track their time on a green time sheet and must be submitted according to the payroll schedule

  22. Temporary Employees • Temporary Employees in a vacant position due to growth or vacated due to resignation will receive an ID Badge and e-mail accounts, and network access but not an access card

Temporary Employees • Retired Teachers • Retired teachers may sub throughout the school year for employees who are out on sick or on personal leave • Retired teachers can not work more than 50% of the days that a regular teacher works or they will lose their monthly annuity payment • Retired teachers that work in a vacant position such as a ARI/AMI, growth positions or vacated position due to resignation are in a vacant position and may lose their annuity
