INTERESTING FACTS Your kidneys clean over 1500 lit. of blood/ day and produce about 1.5 lit. of concentrated urine. Each Kidney contains 10 lakh nephrons. (Nephron is the functional unit of kidney) The total tube length in each kidney is about 100 km. This is all enclosed in a space of a fist. A person can live a normal life with only one kidney.

PREVENTION - The Only Cure If parents have blood pressure/Diabetes, then children must check BP/Diabetes/Urine every year after the age of 25. Inflammation of kidney must be taken seriously and treated immediately. Protein in urine must be controlled & treated. If persons age is below 30 years and is having hyper tension, it can be because of kidneys.
