  3. Why does GEO make sense? • It’s a no brainer. With incentives now, geothermal costs are competitive with conventional equipment. • Dealers can make more money and position themselves as GREEN and cutting edge.

  4. Recent project example • $20,800 for geothermal • $13,900 for conventional (gas, cent. air) • $12,300 for high efficiency ASHP • Net incremental cost of geothermal after federal tax credit - $60 compared to conventional system, $16,600 compared to ASHP system. • Annual energy costs of geo were less than half - $800 vs. $2,200.

GAOI mission… • The GAOI brings together an exceptional group of unaffiliated professionals with a unified voice: • To promote and expand the uses of geothermal technology; • -to help assure and maintain the highest level of proficiency in the construction and installation of a geothermal system; • To establish a talent pool in IL to nurture the design, implementation, operation and installation of this … renewable energy technology.

  10. Services and accomplishments, continued Provide speakers at events (GAOI board members and other leaders.) Work with IDPH and other organizations on loop regulations. Lobbying/advocacy to encourage strong utility support programs.
