High Level Curriculum Plan Year 1 • Embedding AifL – learning rounds • Recognising wider achievement – celebrating success – photos in main corridor/display in every class • Continue to develop and improve parental involvement – eg CfE Afternoon • Teachers: scope to develop own topics, away from NA planners • Pupils: set own targets in formalised manner • Whole School topic (eg Eco)– stages work together – involve parents and community • Continue to develop curricular weeks, eg finance, health

High Level Curriculum Plan Year 2 BUILD on Year 1 success and add elements of: • House ‘Challenges’ P1-3; P4-7 – gym hall/events • Pupils review targets with parents and teachers – set new targets for learning/skills • Introduce more collaborative working with parents – face to face meetings and consultations (instead of written reports?) • Develop Transition practice: continue nursery/P1 good practice, improve P7/S1 transition – work collaboratively with secondary school staff.

High Level Curriculum Plan Year 3 • Multi-stage learning – 1 term – ‘Learning Teams’ • Develop responsive planning for specific topics – spark pupils’ imaginations – personalisation and choice • Structured Activity afternoons for whole school – classes paired and grouped. • Develop a variety of pupil and staff councils for curricular areas – by this time staff would have adapted to this more flexible, collaborative, intuitive way of working.

  5. Focus Task: Interdisciplinary Learning Developed through: A.) Whole School topic – idea of Eco Schools topic developed throughout school, stages working together, parents and community involved: eg Sustaining our World. Linking to different curricular areas, Eco-Action Day, Comic Relief.

  6. B.) Multi-Stage Learning - 1 term – ‘Learning Teams’ for Environmental Studies topics – including responsive planning and Structured Activity Afternoons.

  7. C.) House Challenges – Critical Skills format – Stages working collaboratively together on this for House points – gym hall/class bases – Pupils in leadership role, staff as coaches.

  8. D.) Organising Curricular weeks – eg Health/ Financial/ Science Week. Involve key stake holders – community and business involvement – eg Asda, local bank/ post office/ entrepreneurs/ scientists…Secondary School involvement.
