Pierre a envoyé un paquet à son père This sentence has two OBJECTS. One is having the action done “directly” to it, the other is “receiving” the action. The latter type is often accompanied by the word à = to Indirect object Direct object

Direct object pronouns replace a noun that is not the subject of the verb. plural singular me / m’ - me nous - us te/ t’ - you vous - you le / l’ - him / it (masc.) les - them la / l’ - her / it (fem.)
