Did you Know? • Manufacturing supports an estimated 17.4 million jobs in the United States. • Nearly 12 million Americans (or 9 percent of the workforce) are employed directly in manufacturing. • Taken alone, manufacturing in the United States would be the 10th largest economy in the world. • Manufacturing in the United States produces $1.8 trillion of value each year, or 12.2 percent of U.S. GDP.

WORKFORCE TRENDS MANUFACTURING • Over Next Decade by 2023 Commercial Aircraft Production Levels up by 25% • In 2014 Double Digit Growth Expected in this Segment! • Expected 2 million job openings in MFG. from 2008 to 2018 • Indeed.com: Manufacturing Job Postings have Increased 20% since January 2013 to Over 130,000 jobs posted today. And: Clicks on MFG. Jobs have Increased 15% Since Jan 2013 (People are Exploring Options)

Neilson Company Survey 2011 • 100 Senior Executives in Manufacturing • 55% of Largest ($1 Billion + Revenues) will be Hardest Hit by Skills Shortage- Costing Each $100 Million or more 2012 to 2016 • 45% of Companies are Encouraging Older Workers to Stay Past Age 65 • 50% of Executives Said They Have 11 or More Open Positions for Skilled Workers. 31% Having over 20 openings

  11. (Real Demographic Shift In The Workforce) Nearly One Quarter of All U.S. Manufacturing Workers are 55 Years or Older. The Oldest Baby Boomers Turned 65 on January 1st 2011. Everyday until January 1st 2023 10,000 more will turn 65 years old!
