The Dodo bird • The Dodo bird became extinct in 1681. • Even though it’s a bird like the peacock, it’s a flightless bird. • It was said that the Dodo bird was the dumbest bird. • The Dodo bird eat mostly fruits. • Was a close relative to today's pigeon. • Had no natural predators except for humans.

  3. description • Had brownish and blackish plumage. • Very small legs, but very large birds. • The average Dodo bird weighed about 50 Lbs.

  4. Extinction • Was completely fearless of humans. • Since it was a flightless bird and not afraid of humans, it made it easy prey for humans. • When the humans first arrived, they brought cats, dogs, pigs, etc. • The animals destroyed the Dodo’s nests while the humans destroyed the forests where the birds had their nest. • But the pigs had a higher impact on the birds extinction than the hunting.

  5. Habitat • Its habitat belonged to the island of Mauritius. • Mauritius is off the east coast of Madagascar.
