India Chapter - Historical • Dr. JS Bapna attended ISPOR meeting at Washinton DC in 1998 • Organized Pharmacoeconomic courses sponsored by WHO held in 2002 at Delhi/Jaipur • India Chapter Inception - May, 2006 • Initially 30 Members. • Now 120 Members • Inaugural meeting at Delhi • Executive committee elected

Activities of 2011 • Feb 27 to March 10: International Training Course on Promoting Rational Drug Use in the Community • Venue: Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur • Ccoordinator: Jawahar S Bapna • WHO Expert: Dr. Gitanjali Batmanabane • 40 Participant from 14 countries participated • Outcome: Participants prepared research projects on Rational Use of Drugs to be conducted in their own settings • June 3 ISPOR National Conference, at New Delhi • Venue: India International Centre, New Delhi • The 3rd June meeting, in lieu of World Environment Day (5th June, 2011), Mr. Harish Narula, Chairman of Bharat Shakti Spiritual , Cultural & Educational Society has initiated to organize a Seminar to create awareness in Environment and also in Drug Use and abuse.

  10. Activities planned for 2011 • December - Joint PEOR National meeting with IIHMR in mid December 2011 • ‘Theme: Pharmacoeconomics and Pharmacovigilance’ • Explore the possibility of some resource/representative form ISPOR, USA at the National Meeting.

  11. Future Plans • Pharmacovigilance • Ethics in clinical trials • Liaison with drugs control organization • Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research activities to be initiated

  13. Challenges • Need to have a office in Delhi for its registration • Need to register it at Delhi • Make more members of it • Have Elections of Executive of the chapter in 2011
