Welcome To AP Statistics. Course Description. The intent of the AP Statistics curriculum is to offer a modern introduction to statistics that is equal to the best college courses in an intellectual content and in its alignment with the contemporary practice of statistics.

Course Description • The intent of the AP Statistics curriculum is to offer a modern introduction to statistics that is equal to the best college courses in an intellectual content and in its alignment with the contemporary practice of statistics. • Students will interpret data displays, summarize distributions, and compare distributions of one and two variables. Students will plan and conduct statistical studies. They will study probability and use it in simulations. Finally, students will learn to construct confidence intervals and perform significance testing.
Materials • Textbook: The Practice of Statistics, 3rd ed. by Yates, Moore, Starnes • Graphing Calculator • A TI- 83, 84, or 89 is a requirement for this course. • Students may check one out for the semester, if needed
Grading Policy • Standards-Based Grading • See separate handout • 20% Comprehensive Final Exam • Grades posted regularly to Pinnacle (quizzes, tests, labs, projects) • Progress Reports: Sep 27 & Nov 7
AP Exam • Friday, May 10th, noon, EastSide Baptist Church • Fees: $89 per exam, plus one-time admin fee of $15 • Registration has begun and will end on March 29th • Review for exams is built into the semester calendar.
Homework Policy • Homework is completed via WebAssign, an online homework platform. • Homework is assigned at the beginning of each unit and due on quiz day, or the day before a test. • Long-term projects may be assigned as well.
Extra Help • Help Sessions • Monday afternoons, 3:30 – 4:15 • Other afternoonsessions are available, by appointment only

Course Description • Accelerated Math III is a rigorous course in PreCalculus, Trigonometry, and Statistics designed to prepare students to take Advanced Placement Calculus. • Topics include • Sequences & Series • Rational Functions • Trigonometric Functions & Identities, • Inverse Trigonometric Functions • Law of Sines and Cosines • Polar & Parametric Equations • Vectors • Central Limit Theorem & Confidence Intervals

Grading Policy • Standards-Based Grading, with Recovery • See separate handout • 5% Midterm Exam • 15% Comprehensive Final Exam • There is no EOCT or GHSGT for this course • Grades posted regularly to Pinnacle • Progress Reports: Sep 27 & Nov 7
Homework Policy • Homework is graded for completion not accuracy • Grades appear in Pinnacle, but do not impact the course grade • Homework questions from the previous day’s assignment are answered at the beginning of each class • Answers/solutions are posted to the class blog.
