Sculpture Camp 2011Foundry Art Centre In the 1940s artist Louise Nevelson collected wood scraps in the streets of New York City. She arranged the scraps in multiple wooden boxes to form large sculptures. She would paint her creations all one color like white, black or gold. Using Louise Nevelson’s works for inspiration, students in grades 4-9 created their own “box assemblage” sculptures. At the end of camp 48 students collaborated to form one gigantic “Nevelson like” sculpture!
