  3. Our Objective • Improve social media presence • Educate and work with FLW staff • Increase flow of information from organization

  4. Exposing the Problem • Initial meeting with FLW staff prompted a survey

  5. Now What? • Divided into two separate groups • Brainstormed specific ways we could increase the social presence of FLW. • Develop new mission: • Showcase interconnectivity of social media platforms • Advertise employment pointers and income opportunities

  7. Pecking Order • Wordpress: The primary source • Blog format • Information in bulk • Reliable sources • Twitter and Facebook: Social distributors (relaying information) • Passes on via tweets/Facebook shares + likes • “Domino effect”

  12. Challenges • How to communicate with staff without being insensitive. • Talking about mediums of digital space • Respect our position as students/volunteers rather than employees • Knowing where the line is. • Government shutdown • Service requirements • Lack of communication/ instruction

Reflection • Ambiguity of assignment allowed for development of leadership and problem solving skills. • In the beginning, it was hard meeting with everyone. • Split of the group assisted in achieving goal of assignment • Professional experience • Used Nayar’s advice to advise FLW staff in a professional manner.
