  6. MET at MSU Product / System Development Design / R&D / Test / Manufacturing / Sales Skilled Technician Engineer Mechanical Engineering Technology Bridging the Gap Product / System Manufacture or Implementation Design / R&D / Test / Manufacturing / Sales / Service / Build / Installation / Functional Test The Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) program at Montana State University provides students with scientific and engineering knowledge combined with applied technical skills. Graduates are then capable of “bridging the gap” between the engineer and the skilled technician.

  7. MET Placement Placement for MET students has averaged 85% for the last several years (85% for 2008 graduates) with an Average Salary = $51,000

  8. Student Activities • Accomplishments and Activities • Competed in RSC in Pullman, WA, April 2009. ASME/MET and ME Student Section 2st Place - Micro-Baha Car Competition 3nd Place - National Design Competition • Accomplishments and Activities • Competed in SAE Formula West race, Fontana CA, June 2005, 2006, and 2007 • Did not complete 2008 car in time to compete: This vehicle will be used for 2009 entry • SCCA Races around Montana, COE and MIE Recruiting and Outreach, Community Service, and Fundraising to support next year’s new race car SAE Club – “Bobcat Motor Sports” • Accomplishments and Activities • Participated in senior section sponsored HVAC Design project (courthouse building system design) ASHRAE
