  3. This muscular structure passes food and fluids from the mouth toward the esophagus during swallowing. Role of the pharynx

  4. The pharynx opens into two pathways, one that leads to the esophagus and the other trachea or air passage. It sends the food down the throat in solid form to the stomach so it can be broken down and digested. Where the pharynx sends the food

  5. Amylase is an enzyme that breaks starch down into sugar. Amylase is present in human saliva, where it begins the chemical process of digestion. Enzymes that help the pharynx

  6. Ulceration of the Pharynx On looking into the throat, the follicles will be found inflamed. Some symptoms persist of sore throat, lump in mouth or throat or, pain in the ear. Diseases of the pharynx

  7. One of the things that can prevent a disease in the throat is to keep a healthy diet. Also if you don’t smoke that reduces the chance of getting a disease in the throat. Can diseases in the throat be prevented
