How do we establish International standards in English competency for seafarers?

MarTEL Project • The first MarTEL Project (2007 – 2009) created a set of Maritime English tests with study guidelines for seafarers. • Phase 1 – Cadet Level • Phase 2 – Officer Level (Deck and Engineering) • Phase 3 – Senior Officer Level (Deck and Engineering) At Phase 2 and 3 levels, there are separate tests and study guidelines for Deck and Engineering Officers

  6. New Funding Awarded • In October 2010, the MarTEL Plus project was awarded funding by the European Union. • The MarTEL Plus project will build upon the successfully concluded MarTEL project with a range of new features and functionalities. • The project will run for a period of two years.
