  1. MC Misalignment G. Vesztergombi On behalf of the TK alignment group Tracker DPG meeting, 25.11.2011

  2. Budapest Group Credits • Aachen: Natalie Heracleous • Budapest: A. Agocs, K. Krajczar, F. Sikler, G. Vesztergombi • CERN: Alessio Bonato • DESY: Joerg Behr, Gero Flucke, Justyna Tomaszewska • Louvain: Roberto Castello

  3. Budapest Group Intro MC STARTUP geometry

  4. Budapest Group Strategy

  5. Budapest Group Final strategy

  6. Budapest Group pT and eta distribution in data and MC DATA sample: Isolated Muon trigger MC sample: Isolated Muons from W->munu Same MC and cuts used for validations Same MC and cuts used for validations No time for tune MC distributions, assumption: if no different bias in tracks of different pt and eta, no impact for alignment

  7. Budapest Group IDEALplus_05Delta with Kinks and δ-bows Misalignment(red points) are completely corrected by alignment procedure (black line) Realigned bows

  8. Budapest Group Track based validation 1 Narrow distributios with rms on the micron level Narrow distributios with rms on the micron level

  9. Budapest Group Track based validation 2 Narrow distributios with rms on the 1-3 micron level

  10. Budapest Group Track based validation 3 Distribution of the RMS Residuals (DRR) Differences in data/MC already known from studies on APE

  11. Budapest Group Cosmic split ΔK - ΔΘ http://people.inf.elte.hu/agocs_a/PEAK_5

  12. Budapest Group Z validation: Mass peak Not normalized

  13. Budapest Group MZ vs η, MZ vs Φ for all tracker Z validation http://natalie.web.cern.ch/natalie/directory/Tracker_Alignement_Task/241111/All/

  14. Budapest Group MZ vs Φ in Barrel, MZ vs Φ in TEC+ Z validation TEC+ Barrel Barrel TEC+ http://natalie.web.cern.ch/natalie/directory/Tracker_Alignement_Task/241111/Plus

  15. Budapest Group Z validation:MZ vs Δη

  16. Budapest Group Geometry comparisons Geometry comparison : New MC startup vs IDEAL (BPIX only) differences respect to ideal (perfect alignment) < 5 mm !!! http://people.inf.elte.hu/agocs_a/Centred_vs_IDEAL

  17. Budapest Group Geometry comparisons Geometry comparison : New MC startup vs IDEAL (TOB only) http://people.inf.elte.hu/agocs_a/Centred_vs_IDEAL

  18. Summary A new MC misalignment scenario has been produced for the new MC production: Overall the behavior of the new scenario is quite good in describing the data Close to the ideal geometry! It includes bowing deformation fitted in data Ready to be used: already uploaded in the db (PXB centered), see https://hypernews.cern.ch/HyperNews/CMS/get/calibrations/983.html Still room for improvement: Study on-going for a MC scenario that better matches the data performances in the Barrel region Workshop is organized for common alignment studies with Muon .
