  3. LOCATION • Habitat 67 islocated on theSaintLawrenceRiver in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. • Itisfarfromthe rest ofMontreal'sbusiness and neighborhoods, so isprivate, peaceful and quiet.

  4. Designer Habitat 67 wasdesigned by Canadianarchitect MosheSafdie. Hewanted to makebetter and cheaperhousingforthemasses, the 3-D city in theskywith 1000 housingunits, shops and school.

  5. Now, there are onlyapartments, withoutshops and a school. Small city, insteadbecame a hugelyexpensiveapartmentbuilding

  6. INSIDE THE COMPLEX • There are 158 apartmentsformedfrom354 standardcubemodulescombined in a variety ofinterestingways. • Insidethecomplex are plasticstreets, connectingtheapartmentswiththeelevators and parkinglots. • Eachoneapartment has atleastonegardenterraceon therooftopof a unitbelow.

  7. There are 16 differenttypesof "houses". • Variationsfromone-bedroomhouses to four-bedroomhouses. • Buildingisowned by tenants.
