Summary Motorization will continue to increase as well as air pollution and CO2 emissions from land transport Heavy and light commercial vehicles and motorcycles are large contributors to the PM problem in the Philippines Increase in new vehicles will continue to exacerbate pollution problem but as well as traffic congestion Need for integrated framework such as EST in order to address this problem Moving to stricter vehicle emissions standards and better fuel quality show improvements in air quality Experience from other countries show that these improvements can be done
