  1. The Cell As a School By: Rachel Edelman, Patrick Babbits & Yazan Akel

  2. Cell Membrane

  3. The School wall represents a Cell Membrane because, both the school Wall and Cell Membrane work as a protective barrier. The School Wall separates students and teachers from the outdoors, allowing Us to work through any weather or events in the community, it protects us.

  4. Cytoplasm

  5. A milk carton along with the milk inside of it represents Cytoplasm Because, Both the Cytoplasm and milk carton contain liquid that contains many proteins. Milk provides several proteins all of which make the body stronger which makes It similar to the Cytoplasm.

  6. Golgi Body

  7. The mailboxes in the Teachers Lounge represent the Golgi Body because much like the Golgi Body, the mailboxes package Papers needed for teachers, and then are transported to the Teachers for their use.

  8. Lysosome

  9. Water is similar to Lysosomes because, much like Lysosomes, water Contains the enzymes necessary for digestion, making it very Similar to Lysosome.

  10. Mitochondria

  11. The coffee maker in the Teachers Lounge is similar to Mitochondria Because, like Mitochondria, coffee produces and provides the energy A cell needs to mover, divide, and produce. It basically allows the cell To carry out all actions.

  12. Nucleus

  13. Students are similar to The Nucleus because, much like the Nucleus, students are responsible for providing the school With its diversity and uniqueness.

  14. Nucleolus

  15. The Principals office is similar to the Nucleolus because, much like the Nucleolus, the principals office Produces staff (Ribosomes) to Move out and take positions in the Rough ER (school). They are Vital in running the school and in protein synthesis.

  16. Ribosome

  17. Teachers are similar to Ribosomes because, much like Ribosomes Teachers are the site of learning or protein synthesis in order to make Students smart!

  18. Rough ER

  19. Buses are similar to the Rough ER because, much like the Rough ER buses are responsible for taking synthesized proteins (students) on the Ribosomes (school) collect in the ER for Transport around the cell (buses).

  20. Smooth ER

  21. The Recycle bin is similar to the Smooth ER because, Much like the Smooth ER the recycle bin breaks down Lipid Soluble toxins (plastic etc).

  22. Vacuole

  23. The toilet is similar to The Vacuole because, much the like Vacuole The toilet helps with the release of waste products, and in An animal it stores nutrients and waste products.

  24. Cell Wall (Plant Only)

  25. The school walls and The Cell wall are alike because, much like The Cell Wall the school walls provides and maintains the shape Of the cell (School) and also acts as a barrier against the Outdoors.

  26. Chloroplast (Plant only)

  27. The flag shown in the atrium is similar to Chloroplast because, Much like Chloroplast the Flag contains Chlorophyll (coloring) That makes the plant (Flag) GREEN!
