  3. To divide into syllables: • Most syllables begin with a consonant • Split up double consonants exceptch, ll, rr • Let’s practice! ¡El gatoestá en fuego! ¡El ga-to es-tá en fue-go! (The cat is on fire!) Tengoqueso en mispantuflas. Ten-go que-so en mis pan-tuf-las. (I have cheese in my slippers)
