Erasmus Mundus • Programme by the European Union • Cooperation and Mobility programme • Purposes: • Enhance quality of European Higher Education • Intercultural understanding through cooperation with third countries • Boundary conditions • Master programme involves at least universities of 3 EU countries. • Mobility scheme for the students implies that they study in at least two different EU countries.

EMSP: Course structure • Teaches students all the core photonics courses • Offers advanced and multidisciplinary photonics courses • With a focus on: • Photonics skills (measurement, engineering, research skills) • Employability: photonics in industry (business economics, internship, entrepreneurship)

  9. Courses Semester 1- UGent/VUB Compulsory courses: • Photonics (5 ECTS) • Microphotonics (6 ECTS) • Optical Materials (6 ECTS) • Mathematics in Photonics (4 ECTS) • Laboratories in Photonics Research (6 ECTS) • Introduction to business economics (3 ECTS) total of 30 ECTS
