NJ Dry Cleaner Regulation Update: Compliance Rules and Permit Applications

The New Jersey Draft Rule Update outlines the banning of Generation 3 machines using perchloroethylene by December 31, 2013, impacting co-residential dry cleaners. Existing GP-012 permits will expire, requiring re-application via GP-012A or case-by-case permits. Perchloroethylene dry cleaner grant program ended in March 2013. NJDEP prioritizes inspections for compliance with federal standards (40 CFR Part 63) and GP-012A requirements, focusing on maintenance and operation of Gen 3 machines. Non-compliance may lead to equipment being considered without a permit. For more information, visit the provided link.
