  1. Benefits of Dual Enrollment… • Students can received dual credit to complete high school pathway while earing college credit • Students become acclimated to the college atmosphere • Can attend classes at a Savannah Technical College campus, online, or if enough students are interested and eligible for a particular course a STC instructor can potentially teach at high school. • Decreases the amount of college classes needed after high school graduation, therefore decreases college expenses

  2. How do I get started? • Contact your High School Counselor or STC’s Coordinator of High School Initiatives • Coordinate a time to complete Savannah Technical College’s entrance exam (Compass/Asset….if needed) • If sufficient cuts scores for desired dual enrolled program is obtained, application is completed and returned to either counselor or high school coordinator. • If cut scores are not achieved, student goes into remediation for only area(s) in which test scores were not sufficient before retesting.

  3. Explanation of Testing • Testing: Savannah Technical College’s entrance exam is the Compass and the Asset. • Sufficient Compass test scores for TCC’s/Diploma programs: Reading (70), Writing (32) Pre-Algebra (26) • Sufficient Asset test scores TCC’s/Diploma programs: Reading (38), Writing (37), Pre-Algebra (35) • Sufficient Compass test scores for ACCEL/Degree programs: Reading (79), Writing (62) Pre-Algebra (39) Algebra (37) • Sufficient Asset test scores for ACCEL/Degree programs: Reading (41), Writing (42), Pre-Algebra (39), Algebra (42)

  4. What If I Have SAT/ACT Scores? • ACT or SAT is not needed for admission at Savannah Technical College • The scores can “exempt” a student from needed to take the Compass or Asset by reaching the following scores: • TCC’S/Diploma programs: ACT Reading (13), English (12), Math (17). SAT Critical Reading (430), Math (400) • ACCEL/Degree programs: ACT Reading (17), English (16), Math (19). SAT Critical Reading (450), Math (440)

  5. HOPE VS. ACCEL • Programs (i.e. Welding, Culinary, Aviation, CNA, BAT) are funded via HOPE Grant. • HOPE Grant doesn’t cover student’s entire tuition. Tuition not covered historically been paid by respected school district

  6. HOPE VS. ACCEL • Associate Degree Level courses are funded via ACCEL • ACCEL pays 100% of student’s tuition • All “Dual Enrolled” student’s college fees are waived.
