  1. United Kingdom- By Jacob Violand Welcome To Our Kingdom

  2. Major Cities London (Capital)-9.615 million people Birmingham- 2.296 million people Manchester- 2.247 million people West Yorkshire- 1.541 million people Glasgow- 1.166 million people

  3. Geography and Climate The UK is about the size of Oregon at 99,247 square miles. They only have mountains in the Northwest UK, and mostly lowland terrain elsewhere. Usually temperate and wet. In the winter, the temperatures rarely drop below freezing. But in the summer the average is 60-75 degrees Fahrenheit. Humidity can make the temperature seem hotter or colder than it seems.

  4. Natural Resources Coal Petroleum Natural Gas Iron Ore Lead Zinc Gold Limestone Tin Salt Clay Chalk Silica Sand Slate

  5. How Their Geography, Climate, and Natural Resources are Connected to Their Daily Life and/or Jobs? Since one of their natural resources is coal, they would obviously have coal miners. And some tourists would go to the United Kingdom to view the mountains. They also have pretty nice temperatures and that is definitely positive since they could have outdoor activities and jobs that interact with the outdoor. Another natural resources are gold and iron, so they would have more miners to get those precious gems.

  10. Developed or Developing? High or Low Standard of Living? The UK is a developed country because the standard of living is good, they are technically aware which means they are competing with countries elsewhere in the technological business. Compared to a developing country where the standard of living is low, food and water are scarce.

  11. What Does the Economic Data Reveal About Their Quality of Life? The UK has a lower unemployment rate than we do which is definitely positive. But they also have a much lower GDP Growth Rate which isn’t good at all. They have a lower GDP Per Capita. But, also a lower poverty rate which is great! The budget surplus or deficit is lower than the US and they have a lower inflation rate. Although there are some pros, the cons are the main ones that are very important so their quality of life is not as good as the United States of America’s.

  12. Culture They speak English (mostly) and their ethnic groups are white (83.6%), Scottish (8.6%), Welsh (4.9%), Northern Irish (2.9%), black (2%), Indian (1.8%), Pakistani (1.3%), mixed (1.2%), and other (1.6%). Their religions are Christian (71.6%), Muslim (2.7%), Hindu (1%), other (1.6%), and unspecified or none (23.1%). Birth Rate- 12.27/1000 Death Rate- 9.33/1000

  13. Life Expectancy Male- About 71 years Female-About 77 years

  14. What Do We Need to Know About These People to Understand What Makes Their Culture Unique? You would need to know their basic everyday lifestyle like school hours, hobbies, religion they practice, and language.

  15. How Has A Current Event Affected the US? Or How Has the US Affected This Event? An obvious current event in the world is all the fighting in Syria. Even more deaths have occurred recently and who knows how long this fighting will go on. The UK may send rebel fighters, weapons, and ammunitions government officials have recently reported. Since the fighting has to be stopped in one way or another. That relates to us since we are currently fighting in Afghanistan and might leave next year but would still have troops there to help them.
