  6. Vimeo • http://www.vimeo.com/ • Same embed procedure as Youtube • Little more artsy community • Supports High Def

Video Formats • .swf, .flv – Flash • Small file sizes, plays well with Dreamweaver, very wide support • Easiest to work with in Dreamweaver (Adobe owns both) • .wmv – Windows Media • Small file sizes, nearly universal support for PCs • .mov – Quicktime • Small file size, good for video, wide support

Converting video • Cam Studio • Free, converts .avi to .swf (Flash) • Squared 5 • Free, converts .mpegs to .avis or .mov (Quicktime) • Camtasia ($179) • Screen capture software • Excellent conversion tools • Converts most formats • Adobe Premiere ($218) (Elements for $48) • Industry standard • Steep learning curve • Converts anything to anything else • Me! • I have Premiere and will convert for you

  9. Embedding your video:Flash • Put your cursor where the video goes • Media icon>Flash (choose .swf or .flv)>Browse to file

  10. Embedding Your video:Quicktime • Place cursor where you want video to go • Media Icon> ActiveX • In Property Inspector: • Type in width and height of video in pixels • 500 x 282 • Click the “Embed” checkbox • Change File type to “all” • Browse to file
