  2. Dayton Chapter 041 Highlights • Hosted Professor Walter Grondzik (Ball State) for program on Integrated Building Design – outside sponsor, no cost to chapter - high attendance • Distinguished Lecturer Stan Mumma (Penn State) spoke on DOAS • “Back to Basics” tech sessions well-received, strong attendance (fundamental topics and standards – will continue next year) • New student chapter at the University of Dayton • Exceeded research promotion goal despite difficult economy – increased personal donors by 38% • Early golf outing (mid-May) more than doubled number of golfers from last year

  3. Dayton Chapter 041 Challenges & Solutions • Despite new people stepping up into leadership roles, difficult economy removed others from ranks • Student and affiliate members cannot hold leadership positions • Still need to increase number of younger members at meetings – better attendance with “fundamentals” tech sessions • Increased student participation – besides student night (free), student members attend other meetings for $10 (about ½ the cost of their actual meal) • Difficult economy meant fewer corporate research donations – recruitment of one large donor and increased marketing among members allowed us to exceed our goal
