  2. Latvia Latvia is a European Union member state located on the Baltic Sea between Scandinavia, Eastern and Western Europe. From the United Kingdom, Latvia is only a two-and-a-half hour flight. There are up to 10 flights per day between Latvia and the United Kingdom.

  4. Valmiera Valmiera is a beautiful city just 100 km from Latvia's capital city Riga and a two-hour drive from Riga International Airport. Valmiera has modern infrastructure, hospitable people and strong sporting traditions.

  5. Vidzeme Olympic Centre Training Camp Challenge Riga invites teams to organise their pre-season training camps at the Vidzeme Olympic Centre. The facility has indoor sports halls; outdoor synthetic and grass playing fields; accommodation; a SPA centre; and a sports rehabilitation centre.

  7. Training Pitch The grass stadium is located a short distance from the Vidzeme Olympic Centre in a tranquil area amongst pine trees. The stadium pitch is natural grass and is suitable for both football and rugby. The pitch is encompassed by a running track, with the facilities also available for other track and field pursuits. There is also a 1,500 seat stadium.

  8. All-Weather Stadium Vidzeme Olympic Centre can also offer an all-weather stadium with a synthetic surface. This allows training to continue regardless of the weather conditions. The stadium also has lights allowing for late evening trainings.

  10. Training and Fitness Gyms Strength and endurance practices can be held in the Valmiera Olympic Centre training and fitness gym which has up-to-date Panatta equipment and 16 exercise bikes.

  11. Universal Hall Vidzeme Olympic Centre has one large indoor hall which can be transformed into three smaller halls with specific flooring for different sports Floors include: • Basketball Floor • Specialised Floorball Floor • Suitable Futsal Floor • Seating for up to 2,000 Spectators

  12. Ice Hockey Many professional, as well as children’s and youth hockey teams use the Vidzeme Olympic Centre ice skating arena for trainings or competitions. Latvian based Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) club, Dinamo Riga, and other clubs from Russia, organise their pre-season training camps at the Vidzeme Olympic Centre ice skating arena The use of the ice skating arena is available for a slight extra cost.

  13. SPA Centre Athletes are welcome to use the SPA center; swimming pool; sauna; and all other services on offer at the sports medicine centre.

  14. Accommodation The Vidzeme Olympic Centre has accommodation available for clubs with on-site three-star level accommodation. Naktsmajas Hotel provides: • 40 rooms that can host up to 119 people • Free use of Wi-Fi • Two halls for conferences and events for up to 100 guests

  15. Running Tracks Five running tracks with marked signs varying from 2.4 km up to 9 km are located next to the grass training field.
