  1. Heb. 13:18

  2. A GOOD CONSCIENCE A. Paul lived in all good conscience (Acts 23:1; 24:16) B. Yet he did many things contrary to Christ (Acts 26:9; 9:5 KJV). C. Conscience can convict us or excuse us (John 8:9; Rom. 2:15-16; 1 Cor. 8:7-9). I. CONSCIENCE IS NOT OUR STANDARD D. A truly "good conscience" is when we "live honestly" in all things (Heb. 13:18; 1 Pet. 3:15-16; Rom. 13:3-5).

  3. A GOOD CONSCIENCE A. Violate your conscience (1 Cor. 8:7). B. To knowingly disobey the faith (1 Tim. 1:3-5, 18-20). C. When Truth ceases to be our standard, then man makes up his own laws (1 Tim. 4:1-3). II. OUR CONSCIENCE CAN BE DEFILED D. Defilement in one area spreads to others... (Titus 1:15-16; Gen. 3:6-11ff).

  4. A GOOD CONSCIENCE A. Obey the gospel (1 Pet. 3:21; Heb. 9:13-14; 10:21-22). B. Exercise yourself in honest living (Heb. 13:18; Acts 24:14-16; 17:16). III. A DEFILED CONSCIENCE CAN BE CLEANSED "Hereby shall we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our heart before him: because if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have boldness toward God" (1 Jn. 3:19-21).
